Miia Virtasaimi

is inspired by colour.  She studied glass at the Orrefors glass school in Sweden, in Helsinki and at Sheridan College, Oakville, where she met her husband Robert Tannahill (also a glass artist.)    They currently live in Simcoe, Canada with their children.

Aimee Kennedy

provides a fresh new take on classic themes and designs. She uses her background in fine art (sculpture) and her 10+ years in the graphic design industry to create innovative and wearable jewelry.   Each piece is designed and made by hand and explores unusual fabrication and finishing techniques.

Lucie Kovarova-Weir

Working with glass is Lucie's passion and making glass beads allows her to fully explore her interest in detail and perfection.  Lucie is an accomplished murrine maker, a process whereby complex designs are constructed by working lengthwise creating patterns or pictures in cross section.  The cane is heated and stretched which miniaturizes the design.  Slices can then be cut and applied to a bead.

Christy Shapley,

Michele Goldstein

Creator of tiny glass objects extraordinaire! Michele is inspired by things imperfect, impermanent and incomplete.  She finds beauty  in things modest, humble and unconventional. She likes to swing at the park with her two boys, go for walks, explore, listen to music loud, take photographs, drink strong coffee, travel to new cities, spend time with her favorite people and laugh until she pees.

Emily Gill

Emily’s work is informed by a longtime fascination with biology. Having worked with plants for many years – in greenhouses, nurseries and flower shops - she finds inspiration to recreate playful shapes, forms and textures in metal and fabric. She uses both a hydraulic press and hand forming techniques to give dimension to sheet copper, which she enamels with rich, bright colours. A recent graduate, her award winning jewelry has been shown in the United States and Canada. Born in Montreal, she recently moved to Toronto upon completing her BFA in Halifax and continues to design flowers as a compliment to her jewelry studio practice.
