TANK is pleased to rent hourly studio time to customers and others experienced with glass.
What You Get
•One time free orientation to familiarize you with TANK equipment and safety procedures.
• Up to 30 minutes prep time to prepare, or clean beads from a previous session.
•One Nortel Minor Bench Burner oxygen propane torch
Dydimum glasses
•Basic tools (table top graphite pad, hand marver, tweezers, mashers, tungsten poker, knife, water can, Dremel tool for cleaning beads, 1/8th mandrels, sludge, arrow springs annealing kiln)
Who Can Rent
Students who have taken at least one beginner class at TANK or have taken an equivalent class at a reputable studio / school. If you are a first time renter you need to book a half hour orientation session with Amy or Jill prior to doing any work. When renting time you are allowed up to 30 minutes to get set up and clean a previous sessions beads before being charged by the hour. Time will be rounded to the hour.

Making Glass Beads – 3 Part Beginner Series with Amy Johnson
[ Skill Level : New Beginner / Advanced Beginner ]
An introduction to the exciting art of working with hot glass and making flameworked beads. It’s the perfect place to start for total beginners or a great refresher. Amy is a technical master who will show students many techniques to build a solid foundation of skills. Students will be able to create their own designs based on what is learned. The 3 classes introduce an excellent overview of what’s possible in glass beadmaking!
$295 / Level - including all materials
+ 3 hours FREE torch time to practice with each level you complete. (valid for two weeks from last class day)

Multi Session Classes
A 50% deposit is required to hold a space for multi-day classes. The balance is due on the first day of class. In the case of a class cancellation by TANK, the deposit is fully refunded or student is provided the option to transfer into another class. If a student wishes to cancel minimum 3 weeks notice prior class start date must be provided for a full refund (less any applicable administration expenses.)
One Session Classes
Full payment due at time of booking for all one session classes.

International Teacher Classes

Missed Classes
If a class is missed in a multi session class taught by TANK instructors, the instructor will provide a verbal description of what was missed. No refund will be issued for that class. A make up class may be scheduled at the students expense (discounted rates may apply,) or they may be able to join that class the next time it runs.

Gather your friends, family or co-workers and play with fire and colour in this fun 3 hour experience oriented class. You’ll learn to make 3 or 4 styles of glass beads using an oxygen propane torch with teaching duo Amy Johnson & Jill Cribbin. Make approximately 10 to 20 beads!

Make This Bead! Hollow Bead Workshop – 3 hour intensive

In this class students will learn to make three hollow bead styles. Students are shown three different technical approaches to making a hollow and three different design applications. This class will also improve your glass control using the coiling method which will benefit many other bead types.

In this class students will learn to make their very own charm style glass and sterling silver beads to fit on the popular Pandora, or Troll style charm bracelets. In the first class students will make simple beads in a variety of designs on larger hole mandrels. In the second calss, students will learn to saw, file, sand and rivet silver tubing into the centre of their own glass beads creating a personalized memento to wear on a bracelet or necklace. Silver for 6 beads included, more silver tubing may be purchased at an additional cost if students wish to line more of their beads.
